The History of Chevrolet Company was founded by Louis Chevrolet, a racecar driver and also a son of Cooper Chevrolet, William Durant, an investor of William little (founder of little automobile) and Dr. Edwin R. Campbell (son-in-law of Durant). In 1911 William Durant took over the Flint Wagon Works, and Chevrolet Motor Co. forming the company. The name Chevrolet is used because as a racer he wants to rebuild his reputation. The first prototype of his vehicle was made by Etienne Planche. And the first time the company’s Chevrolet production is done in Toronto, Canada.

The first time, in History of Chevrolet, the “bowtie” logo was used by Chevrolet in 1913. The logo, designed by Durant, was originally a wallpaper of a hotel he saw in France.
In 1916 Chevrolet had gained a great advantage, so Durant could buy back most of GM’s stock. In 1917 Durant could return to the post of president of GM. Then Chevrolet is incorporated into General Motors and becomes a separate division. 1717 Chevrolet owns a factory in New York City, Tarrytown, N.Y .; Toledo, Ohio; Flint, Michigan; St. Louis, Missouri; Oakland, California; Fort Worth, Texas, and Oshawa, Ontario.
In 1918, Chevrolet introduced the D model car, a four-passenger roadster and a 5-passenger touring car, using a 55hp (41kW) V8 engine with a Zenith carburetor and 3-speed transmission. This automotive company also started producing 6-line engine cars.
In the 1920s to 1940s, in History of Chevrolet, Chevrolet continued to compete with Ford, especially when Chrysler formed Plymouth in 1928. Chevrolet, Plymouth, Ford is known as the “Three cheap car makers”. Chevrolet launched Standard Six, a 6-cylinder engine car they advertised in the United States in 1933 which was then said to be the cheapest car. The company managed to gain great influence in the United States market of the 1950s and 1960s. 1953 Chevrolet launches 2-door sports car, Chevrolet Corvette. The first time Chevrolet made gasoline by injection in 1957.
